You can now modify your data using CSV imports! In addition, to importing data from Personio, we give you full access to your employees, contracts and compensations. This is not only useful if you have for example an entity that does not use Personio, but also when you want to mass-adjust your existing employees.

You can find this in your data sources area. After clicking the CSV import button, you will be guided through the process. It looks like this:

Importing data via CSV is very powerful, as it gives you full access to your data and you can use the tool of your choice to work with it, for instance Excel. However, it also requires a good understanding of how this works, as it's rather low-level:

  • Each of the following 3 step allows you adding, deleting or modifying the respective data
  • Each step must start with downloading a new export, as otherwise you might upload outdated data
  • The import will detect modifications and apply them to the corelist:
    • Create: If you want to add a new record, leave the ID column empty
    • Update: If you want to modify an existing record, simply modify the exported row and leave the ID filled
    • Delete: If you want to delete a record, mark the row for deletion in the template

In addition, each CSV template that you'll download through this process contians instructions on how to work with that template:

If you need further support for importing CSVs, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

ps: We do also have mass-actions on the platform, which is a more guided process. We suggest you use those first and only switch to CSV if you face limitations in your use case.
